FUCK YEAH Coldplay’s new video for Hurts like Heaven is animated.
I was looking forward to all of the Mylo Xyloto videos being at least intertwined with an animated story, much like a concept album with a film attached to it like the sacred Interstella 5555, but I felt disappointed when it didn’t turn out like that, even though it was supposed to be something like that when they first started production. But now, there’s finally something here!
It’s energetic, it looks nice, and I want it. Sure, the story doesn’t look like anything extremely special (V for vendetta and a bunch of other rehashed stories come to mind) but it does fit the song’s lyrics very well! (concrete canvas, I love that line!) I wish all of Coldplay’s videos could be like this, or like Strawberry swing. And of course, FUCK YEAH RAINBOW COLOURS. I’m a sucker for them.
